Argyroupoli

the calm force

Ιστορία

Argyroupoli was created by Pontian refugees from Argyroupoli of Pontus, after the Asia Minor disaster. At that time Vouliagmenis Avenue did not even exist yet, nor electricity. The first inhabitants struggled with many difficulties and shortages, but with their hard work and perseverance they built the first houses. Due to its proximity to the airport of Elliniko, the area was bombed during World War II, so the residents suffered a second crisis. With the end of the war, the residents resettled in the area, building houses and infrastructure from scratch, creating the first version of what is today a modern and safe neighborhood.

Γενικές πληροφορίες

Argyroupoli combines calm and fun, quiet and liveliness, slow and fast rhythms, sea and mountain. It is considered to be a quiet and family suburb, with organized municipal, cultural and social services, but at the same time it offers many options for entertainment, food, coffee and drink. Whoever visits it once wants to come again and again, and whoever gets to know the standard of living and the facilities it offers, wants to make Argyroupoli their new neighborhood!

Why choose Argyroupoli

It is close to everything

Although it belongs to the Southern Sector of Athens, Argyroupoli is only 9 kilometers away from the center of Athens, which can be accessed easily via Line 2 of the Athens Metro, which means that in less than 20 minutes one can reach the Acropolis and Syntagma Square. In addition, as a southern suburb, it is very close to the Athenian Riviera, so in a few minutes you can reach Glyfada or Vouliagmeni for a swim, a meal or a drink.

It is ideal for families

Argyroupoli may be a modern urban area, but still retains a homy-neighborhood character that makes it safe and ideal for families. Here children enjoy a little more freedom and carelessness, and their parents can be calm and relaxed, since they do not have to use the car for every commute, as most things can be accessed on foot. In Argyroupoli everything is close: schools, parks, playgrounds.

It is next to the beaches

Argyroupoli is built north of Vouliagmeni Avenue and borders the municipalities of Glyfada, Alimos and Ilioupoli. This means that it is only a few kilometers away from the beaches of the Athenian Riviera, so its residents can rejuvenate themselves with a swim in the refreshing waters of the Saronic Gulf any time they wish.
